Process and Criteria

The Leather Doctor selects the best franchisees to represent our brand in market. Our selection process places focus on personal engagement with an analysis of financial resources and aims/expectations of the candidate. By working with the best, we bring strength to our team and network.

The Leather Doctor works closely with candidates to ensure they’re a good fit for our system. Providing information and answering questions regarding our system in order for you to make an informed decision is important to us.

A Call With Our Team

At your convenience, we will conduct a 30 minute call with you. On this call, we like to learn about your motivations and resources to pursue becoming a Leather Doctor, as well as initially qualify you for the opportunity, including determining territory availability. We will supply you with detailed information to review.

A Video Call of Face To Face Meeting With Our Team

Following the supply of initial information, we will set up a video call or face to face meeting (depending on your location), to review in further detail, what we do, how we do it, and what becoming a Leather Doctor will provide for you . We’re also happy to answer questions you may have during this meeting. You’re welcome to invite guests or friends to the meeting.

Research and a Day On The Road

In addition to the information we have supplied, we encourage prospective franchisees to contact existing franchise owners who will be able to further assist in answering questions about the business, why they joined and the work itself. We’re also able to organise a day for you to go out on the road with an existing franchisee, to experience first-hand what a day in the life of a Leather Doctor is really like. We know you’ll like what you see! This step concludes with a mutual evaluation to decide if becoming a Leather Doctor is right for you.

Sign Agreement & Confirm Finance Funding

Once you’ve confirmed that you would like to become a part of The Leather Doctor family, a 10% deposit of the license fee is to be paid. This payment secures your selected territory. Payment will then prompt the FDD to be sent to you. When you sign and return the FDD receipt, a 14-day waiting period (mandated by the FTC) commences.

Upon conclusion of this waiting period, we will deliver agreements to you for your territory to be signed and returned. Full payment of territory fee and costs is required prior to training commencing.

Commence Training

Suitable training dates will be booked in with you to undertake your Leather Doctor training. The first two weeks are undertaken alongside an experienced Leather Doctor trainer in our dedicated training facilities. The third week of training is spent with a trainer in your territory, focusing on the set up of your business operations, learning the business systems, establishing relationships in your local area and undertaking any jobs that may have been booked.
